I'm, well, not closing my BMO account, but sorta quietly ignoring it? After they merged with Bank of the West, my former bank which I loved with a passion, I obviously had to switch to the BMO app on my phone. And it SUUUUCKED. Took far too long to just get my balances! I finally got the payout from selling my parent's house, and invested that, which required another checking account. THEIR app works properly! So I switched my direct deposit to them and am happy thus far.

I'll keep my BMO account for my credit card, and keep some money flowing into it slowly, but it's not going to see a lot of action. In fact, I stopped carrying my debit card from them and demoted their card from my phone to a much lower priority.
